Children's Ministry

The Mission of the Hope Community Kids Ministry is for every child to see church as a fun and safe place to come while learning about God so that they may come to personally accept Jesus Christ as his or her Lord and Savior.  We provide kids with an opportunity to know the Bible and understand the events and teachings in it so that they can apply these truths to their own lives.  We want kids to become disciples of God, so they will worship and serve Him the rest of their lives.

Our goal is to help kids grow in their relationship with God and knowledge and understanding of the Bible. We want them to learn to worship God, pray and serve others.

Let the little children come to me,
and do not hinder them,
for the kingdom of heaven belongs to such as these."
Matthew 19:14

Infants & Toddlers

We provide a fun, safe and Christ-centered environment for ages: birth - 36 months in order to give parents a chance to enjoy our Sunday services. Our nursery is open during both services on Sundays.  Nursing mothers are always welcome to come to the nursery during the services.

Great care is taken for safety and health procedures to ensure the well being of your child. Our child-to-worker ratio is maintained as closely as possible. A minimum of two caregivers oversee each room.

In order to provide a healthy environment for your child, we ask that you keep your child home if he or she exhibits any of the following symptoms:

  • Discharge in or around the eyes
  • Fever or Vomiting
  • Green or yellow runny nose
  • Excessive coughing
  • Diarrhea
  • Questionable rash
  • Any communicable disease

Preschool

We provide a fun, Christ-centered environment for ages: 3 yrs - Kindergarten in order to give parents a chance to enjoy our Sunday services.  We offer structured classes which incorporate a lesson time, crafts, games, and other fun activities to keep kids engaged as they learn about God, the Bible, and Jesus Christ.

Grade 1-5

We provide Biblical lessons with activities to keep them engaged as they learn. We also create time for them to learn about missions, prayer and who God is.  Kids are able to connect with their peers as they learn together.

9:00 am service - explores the stories in the Bible and how they apply to our everyday lives

10:45 am service - explores what is in the Bible from beginning to end and teaches the love of God through worship and prayer.

Check in

When you arrive you will sign your child in at the registration table in the children's hallway. Once your child is checked in, you will be given a sticky label to put on his/her back.  You will  receive a claim ticket that matches your child’s check-in sticker that you will present to the teacher to pick up your child.

Safety and Security

We have taken steps to make Hope Community Church a safe and secure place for children of all ages. The Children's Ministry staff is instructed to follow policies and procedures designed to provide a safe environment.

Children enrolled in the Ministry will check in and out at the Registration table. A paging system allows us to notify parents by displaying the child's ID number in the worship center on the screens if needed.

If you have any questions or concerns, please contact Laura Nass via email at childrenministry@hopeolmsted.org.
